NHL Rankings November 25, 2002...By Jerry Butler

-Boston Sporting an impressive plus/minus rating of plus 16, young Nick Boynton is developing into a solid defender for the Bruins.

-Dallas Veteran Derian Hatcher has been a tower of strength on the blueline for the Stars.

-Minnesota The goaltending combo of Manny Fernandez and Dwayne Roloson has been solid for the high flying Wild.

-Vancouver Winger Markus Naslund is having another outstanding season for the red-hot Canucks.

-St Louis Forward Cory Stillman has been a strong contributor on offense for the much improved Blues.

-New Jersey Hard working John Madden is one of the Devils most reliable two-way players.

-Philadelphia The Flyers have scored more than 2 goals just once in their last 10 contests.

-Tampa Bay The Lightning played their worst 2 home games of the season in back to back losses to the Islanders and the Flyers.

-Ottawa Hulking defenseman Zdeno Chara has played his best hockey of the season during the Senators current hot streak.

-Detroit Defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom looks like a lock for the Norris Trophy Award.

-Carolina Erik Cole broke out of an extended scoring slump with a hat trick against the Canadiens on Saturday.

-LA Kings The Kings have not let their lengthy injury list keep them from working hard and competing in each and every game.

-Pittsburgh The Penguins like Alexei Kovalev.s 26 points in 20 games but they don.t care much for his minus 9 plus/minus rating.

-Montreal Saku Koivu is healthy and leading the way on offense for the hard working Canadiens.

-Colorado Milan Hejduk has been on roll on offense for the up and down Avalanche.

-Chicago Three consecutive losses to start their longest road trip of the season do not bode well for the Blackhawks.

-Anaheim The Ducks are pleased with the play of rookie forward Stanislav Chistov.

-Edmonton Anson Carter has shrugged off numerous trade rumors and he is having a strong season for the improving Oilers.

-Toronto Goalie Ed Belfour has bounced back from a slow start to post back to back shutouts over the Bruins and the Flyers.

-NY Islanders Kenny Jonsson has been a big disappointment at both ends of the ice for the Isles.

-NY Rangers Eric Lindros has one measly goal in his last 18 games, Pavel Bure just 2 points in his last 12 games and Brian Leetch no assists in his last 13 games. The Rangers top players are absolutely killing them.

-San Jose Two steps forward and one step back, the Sharks can.t seem to get on an extended roll.

-Columbus Veteran playmaker Andrew Cassells has by far and away been the most productive free agent signing of the 2002 season.

-Florida With only 1 goal in his first 21 games, rookie Stephen Weiss has not looked anything like a number 1 draft choice.

-Washington Jaromir Jagr and Peter Bondra are top notch offensive players but they can.t do it by themselves.

-Phoenix Daymond Langkow is currently mired in the worst offensive slump of his career.

-Calgary After his outstanding 52 goal season of 2001, Jerome Iginla is on pace to score a very unimpressive 15 goals this year.

-Nashville When the season started Denis Arkhipov and Martin Erat were thought to be the Predators best offensive players but it hasn.t worked out that way.

-Atlanta Once he shakes off the rust and gets himself into game shape, Byron Dafoe will definitely make the Thrashers a better team.

-Buffalo The poor play of goaltenders Martin Biron, Mika Noronen and Ryan Miller has been the main reason the Sabres have the worst record in the NHL.
