WHO`S HOT, WHO`S NOT IN COLLEGE HOOPS TUESDAY

Pittsburgh (13-1, 3-0 Big East) also started last season 13-1. With an 80-61 win, Pittsburgh has consecutive wins in Morgantown, W.Va. for the first time since 1934 and 1935.

West Virginia (9-5, 1-2) lost for the first time at home this season and were held to their third-lowest point total of the season. Notre Dame (14-2, 2-1 Big East) are 10-0 at home for the first time since 1994-95. Georgia Tech (8-5, 2-1 ACC) improved to 7-0 at home and are off to their best start in the league since beginning 3-0 in the 1995-96 season.

Prior to Charlotte`s 78-58 victory over UAB, the 49ers been 0-4 on the road this season and had lost six road games in a row dating back to last season.

North Carolina beat the Tigers 68-66 in Chapel Hill önning Clemson`s all-time record to 0-49 there. North Carolina`s home-court winning streak over Clemson is the second-longest in NCAA history. Princeton`s 52-game streak over Brown is also active and the longest.

Purdue beat Michigan State 72-60 for its season-high fifth straight win. The Boilermakers improved to 9-0 at home.

Saint Joseph`s (12-1, 4-0 A-10) beat cross-town rival Temple 65-55. They have won five in a row and are off to the best start since 1964-65, when the Hawks were 26-1. WEDNESDAY

Texas (11-2, 2-0 Big 12) with an 82-71 win over Baylor, posted its sixth straight win in their first road game since losing at then-No. 1 Arizona last month.

Kansas (12-3), won its ninth straight with a 98-70 win over Wyoming to give coach Roy Williams his 400th career victory.

Florida (14-2, 3-0 SEC) won its 10th straight overall and 13th in a row at home with a 77-64 win over Tennessee.

Wake Forest (11-1, 1-1) rebounded from their only loss of the season by snapping a seven-game losing streak against Maryland with an 81-72 win. The Terrapins (9-4, 2-1), who had their 14-game Atlantic Coast Conference winning streak snapped.

LSU (12-2) ran its home winning streak to 11 games with a 112-65 rout of Centenary.

With a 69-63 loss to Oregon, Portland State fell to 2-32 against Pac-10 teams. The Vikings beat Oregon in 1997 and Arizona State last season.

Northwestern lost its 26th straight to Indiana and fell to 0-29 at Assembly Hall. The Wildcats have not beaten Indiana since Jan. 11, 1988, and have not won in Bloomington since Jan. 13, 1968.

Kyle Korver made a school-record nine 3-pointers and scored 31 points in Creighton`s 93-56 victory over Evansville. The Bluejays (14-1, 5-0) equaled their third-best start in league play. The last time they opened MVC play with five straight wins was 1988-89.

Mississippi State (10-4, 0-3) has lost 16 straight road games against ranked conference opponents and their first three SEC games.

UC Irvine (9-4, 3-1 Big West) posted a 75-73 victory over Utah State. The Anteaters extended their home record to 5-0 for the season. The Anteaters have won 31 of their last 34 at home.

Auburn (14-2, 3-0) won its eighth in a row and sixth-straight against the Gamecocks (7-6, 1-2) with a 67-60 win. Auburn hasn`t started this well overall or in the SEC since the 1999-2000 season when it reached No. 4 in the national rankings when it began 16-1 including 5-0 in the league.

Villanova (10-5, 3-0 Big East) straightened out its free throw shooting for an 82-73 victory over St. John`s to snap a nine-game road losing streak. The Wildcats last won on the road exactly a year ago, Jan. 15, 2002, at Virginia Tech. Villanova made its last 13 free throws and finished 26-for-40(65 percent), while the Red Storm were 22-for-40 (55 percent).

Wisconsin, the only Big Ten school that was unbeaten at home last season, has won 18 of their last 19 league games at the Kohl Center.

Cincinnati (10-3, 3-0 Conference USA) has won five in a row overall with a 66-56 win over St. Louis. The Bearcats have won 16 of the last 19 in the series. THURSDAY

Louisville (11-1, 3-0 Conference USA) won its 10th straight and are off to their best start since 1996-97. It was their fourth road win, already surpassing last season`s three.

Stanford`s Matt Lottich scored 17 points as the Cardinal rallied for a 73-68 overtime victory against Washington State. Stanford has won 13 straight against WSU.

Tony Darden scored 17 points as Long Beach State ended a 10-game losing streak with a 59-55 victory over Idaho. The 49ers ended the second-longest losing streak in school history. Oral Roberts held on to beat Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis 66-63 in the Mid-Continent Conference. The Golden Eagles (11-5, 2-1 Mid-Con) have won 11 straight at home.

Butler (14-1, 4-0 Horizon League) used an 11-4 spurt midway through the second half to pull ahead and beat Wright State 81-70. The Bulldogs have won four in a row, going 4-0 in league play for the first time since 1990-91.

Canisius posted an 84-77 win over Siena. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Griffs (6-9, 2-4). Siena has won only once in the last 10 years at Canisius.

Troy Bell scored 25 points and Ryan Sidney added 24 as Boston College snapped a four-game losing streak with a 93-81 victory over North Carolina State. N.C. State (8-4) came into the game 34-3 against non-conference teams since moving to the RBC Center, but a cold shooting night did in the Wolfpack, which started 5-0 against an easy schedule and has gone 3-4 since.
