MajorWager has learned that the WTO will announce its ruling tomorrow regarding Antigua's request for compensation as a result of the U.S. rewriting its commitment to allow other countries to provide gambling services to American citizens. The United States has come to terms with the EU, Canada and Japan, but most eyes are focused on Antigua, which brought the case to the WTO and for whom the Geneva based organization already ruled in favor. Antigua has requested US$3.4 billion in compensation while the United States countered with $500,000. Antigua has also asked for compensation in the area of Intellectual Property Rights while the US Trade Reps suggested it was shocked that Antigua would even suggest that. When the ruling is made tomorrow, MajorWager.com will publish all the details.
