5-Kansas City Manager Tony Pena has done a very good job with a team that is not blessed with a lot of talent.

6-Minnesota The Twins have played some very good baseball during their current 8-2 hot streak.

7-Baltimore With a .281 batting average and 12 stolen bases, Jerry Hairston has been a solid contributor on offense for the Orioles.

8-Anaheim Reliever Brendan Donnelly has pitched 21 straight scoreless innings to start the season for the Angels.

9-Toronto Vernon Wells has being doing the job in the middle of the batting order for the improving Blue Jays.

10-Chicago White Sox It is starting to look like a second straight season of high expectations and poor performance for the Sox.

11-Texas Veteran Esteban Yan has been absolutely horrendous out of the pen for the Rangers.

12-Tampa Bay With a .316 batting average and 22 runs batted in, Rey Ordonez has looked like a totally different hitter than he was with the Mets.

13-Cleveland Matt Lawton has been a huge disappointment with the stick for the second straight season.

1-Atlanta Mike Hampton has been pitching very well since coming off of the DL in mid April.

2-San Francisco The loss of closer Robb Nen to a season ending rotator cuff injury is a huge blow to the Giants.

3-Montreal Brad Wilkerson has developed into one of the most dependable players on the Expos team.

4-Philadelphia Catcher Mike Lieberthal has bounced back from an injury plagued 2002 season to play some top notch baseball for the Phillies.

5-Chicago Cubs Corey Patterson is starting to show signs that he is capable of being the kind of every day player that the Cubs always thought he could be.

6-Los Angeles Kevin Brown is once again healthy and pitching excellent baseball for the Dodgers.

7-Houston The Astros need more offense from Craig Biggio and Lance Berkman.

8-St. Louis The Cards are going to have to improve on their very mediocre 8-13 road record if they are going to be a legitimate contender.

9-Cincinnati Aaron Boone has been doing it all on offense for the Reds.

10-Arizona Miguel Batista has been the most consistent pitcher in the Diamondbacks starting rotation.

11-Florida The Marlins are very high on young left-hander Dontrelle Willis.

12-Colorado The Rockies 6-17 road record is downright embarrassing.

13-NY Mets The Mets have a roster that is dominated by .past their prime. veterans.

14-Pittsburgh The Pirates need slugger Aramis Ramirez to get untracked on offense.

15-Milwaukee The Brewers 5.03 team ERA is evidence that their pitching staff is a huge problem.
